Contemporary Dance Workshop
From October 30 to November 9, participants will be involved in the last phase of the creative process of the new production Materia by the company Zuk Performing Arts.
Professionals in choreographic direction, sound creation, lighting and audiovisual production will guide practical sessions and theoretical classes that aim to show the daily work and reality around a stage production.

WORKSHOP SESSIONS HISTORY OF THE DANCE by Itsaso A. Cano A retrospective on authors, dance works and movement arts that will introduce participants to the current contemporary dance scene. THE CREATIVE PROCESS by Itsaso A. Cano and Miguel GP Explanation about the process of creation in the Theater and a brief prologue of the play "MATERIA". Some keys will be given about contemporary creation that will serve as a guide to use it in other creative fields. THEATRICAL LIGHTING, COSTUMES AND SCENOGRAPHY Practical explanation of the basic aspects of creative lighting in the contemporary scene and its application in the play "MATERIA". It will also be explained what costume design and scenography consist of, and how to use both for the benefit of the play. THE SOUND SPACE by Sofía Comás The creation of the sound environment in performing arts and its use in a creative process parallel and simultaneous to that of the movement arts. AUDIOVISUAL RECORDING FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS by Miguel PG and Vicente Romero Theoretical session at the theater on how to record performing arts. Tips to avoid typical mistakes and how to be efficient in an uncontrolled environment. GENERAL REHEARSAL After having seen all the aspects of a stage production, the participants will attend the general rehearsal of the play "MATERIA" at the Theater. In this way they will be able to appreciate the final staging resulting from the creative process previously worked on. |

ACTIVITIES IN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS Every day from 10 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. a meeting will be held with the artists about the work done and the progress of the creative process of that day. The nightly dialogues will deal with the daily routine of activities carried out in the development of the work "MATERIA", obtaining feedback from the participants and daily explanations on the course of the production and the inclusion or not of new contributions. On November 8, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. there will be a performance of a 15-minute piece of the play "MATERIA" in one of the halls of residence and a subsequent dialogue with the artists, coinciding with the general rehearsal scheduled for that day. |
